Progress!

A lot has happened the last couple of days! Our caterpillars got really big. We think they got about 6 or 7 times the size they started when we got them.


Then when we got up yesterday, they were all hanging from the top of their little container.

Then amazingly yesterday around lunch, I happened to look over and see one of them swinging in a circle and we got to watch it wriggle out of it's skin! It looked like his head fell off when this happened, which Zane thought was so cool.

When we got up this morning the last caterpillar had turned into a chrysalid, so it was time to move them to their butterfly habitat. I taped the paper disk inside the habitat. We laughed at how much of the paper disk they had eaten when they were caterpillars! Good thing they left enough for them to attach to. So now we wait for Stage 4, the most exciting part! Butterflies!

AWANA awards night

Zane finished his first book in Sparks this year and Gemma finished Puggles. They got to walk up on stage in front of lots of people with their classes to receive their rewards. Then they celebrated with cookies and lemonade at a reception afterwards.
