Today's Quote

I hear Zane in the other room telling Gemma...

"I'm trying to be nice, but I can't guarantee anything."

Fun in Dodge!

We went to visit my family in Dodge City and had much fun!
Here are Zane and Gemma visiting Music Preschool.

Zane's concentrating on his music symbols.

We did some playing in the backyard.

And we went to the zoo!

Not sure what this bird is called, but we liked how close we could get.

Strolling along...

Here's Bryce's close up. Hehe! Just kidding hunny!

The zoo can make a girl tired.

Time for some lunching!

Thanks fam for a great time!!

What the kids are up to

Gemma can feed herself, although you will notice, we try to only let her do this when there is time for a bath immediately following!

Gemma can also get anywhere she desires now and it doesn't take long for, say... an entire shelf of books to be on the floor. Ugh.

Zane and Gemma thankfully still love each other most of the time!

Here they are playing catch. I am always very proud of Zane for how patient he is with his little sister.

Central Christian Academy Preschool Presents...

"I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to do what is good, who leads you in the way you should go."
Isaiah 4:17

My little guy's first school program.

Here's a close up of Zane in the corner. He was the line leader and proudly led all the kiddos onto the bleachers.

Here are his teachers, Mrs. Winger and Mrs. Tinius.

Here is his music and PE teacher, Mrs. Meyerhoff.

Here we are at the reception following the program for cookies and punch. Yum! G'ma, Uncle Chris, Aunt Erin and Cousin Eden were all able to make it! If you look closely you can see Erin's toes...sorry Erin!

It seems the punch was sour!
Precious songs and lots of fun as we watched around 50 3 & 4 year olds try to stand on bleachers and sing songs for 20 minutes. Zane's favorite song for the night was "Shout to the Lord". He did great! I was so proud! My favorite part was the poem they recited...
On the Cross
On the cross, on the cross
They put Jesus on the cross.
In the tomb, in the tomb
They put Jesus in the tomb.
Up to heaven, up to heaven
Jesus rose and went to heaven!
In my heart, in my heart
Jesus lives in my heart!

The cabinet locks are on and the gate is up

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Psalms 139:13-14

Amidst all the extra chaos that seems to be happening these days, it's moments like this that I just can't soak up enough. Priceless cuddles. I'll happily chase her around all day, knowing there are some snuggles in store when the sandman comes knocking.

Spring Snow

We were looking forward to the big spring snow at our house, but we ended up with more ice than snow. We still had plenty to play in though, so no complaints!

Here are the kids freshly bundled as we began our trek outside. It just so happens the new duck tub works well as a baby sled too!

Maneuvering through the snow...we had to adjust Gemma's hat a lot. She never complained though, she just went along for the ride.

We tried to build a snowman, but our snow was too icy. We did manage to find a soft patch of snow next to the house that made a nice big snowball.

Here are the three of us out for our morning fun in the snow!

And we ended with a good run through the drifts by the side of the house. Lots of fun! We'll take a snow day anytime of the year!

Dr. Suess week at preschool...

Have you ever read so many Suess books in a day,
that everything rhymed; what you thought and you'd say?

It's happening to me and I can't make it end.
If you know a solution, an email please send!

I do have some pictures I thought I'd display,
Because Gemma grew out of her tub yesterday.

We've moved on to a toddler tub that looks like a duck,
And I'm proud to announce it only cost me 10 bucks!

Well, I have one more book I'm going to read to my Zane.
Let's hope that it doesn't make me go insane!

Poor Baby

My baby is sick and teething. Of course it's the weekend. I hate that. But, fortunately, we have an appointment for her 9 mth check up on Monday morning. I think this picture is about as precious as it gets. I'm going to try to sleep like this tonight!

Snip Snip

My barber shop had a couple of appointments with two cute boys today.
The first was a touch up on an original 'do...
(The posing in this one got a little out of hand)

The next, was a new shorter 'do. I hung onto the pretty long hair as long as I could. We decided it was time for a good manly 'do, due to the "pretty" factor I spoke of above.
Isn't he cute?!

It's about to get even cRaZiEr!

There have been a lot of changes this last week with our little girl. It seems she will be crawling soon! Zane never really crawled...maybe due to our all wood flooring at the time, so we are excited to see Gemma take off. Although, I do realize that this means a HUGE change in my day to day routine.

And then there's the tooth that emerged on Wednesday. Wow! Okay, the picture does not show the tooth at all, but I couldn't resist posting it anyway, because her face is so funny. Poor thing. My gigantic hands are crammed in her mouth and she's being so patient!
