YUM!

Ruthi loves her some ice cream...especially when it's shared with "Da Da".

Butterflies!

Here is Zane and Gemma's latest school craft. Isn't it a lovely butterfly?!

We got our caterpillars in the mail this week. We've already watched them double in size the last few days. They are busy eating and wiggling around. We'll see what's next...

The Taste Test

Exhibit A: duck egg

Exhibit B: duck egg minus the shell

Exhibit C: duck egg in breakfast form

Exhibit D: duck egg entering brave husband's mouth

Exhibit E: Yay! duck egg is tasty

After approval from brave husband, I gave it a try. I was pleasantly suprised after reading so many comments online about duck eggs being strong. I would have never known it wasn't a chicken egg. Money savings here we come! We're practically farmers...okay, maybe not.

Easter Eggs

I'm sure you've thought hundreds of times..."If I just had a duck that layed an egg everyday, I wouldn't have to buy eggs at Easter to decorate." Well, I can put your mind at ease. ;-)

You'll have to buy chicken eggs anyway. It just so happens that the outer layer of a duck's egg will peel off if you dye it. Who knew?! We do now! After cleaning off the gooey mess from the outside of the eggs, we tried to dye them again, but it just doesn't work. I guess you never know until you try.

Here are a few of our Easter egg animals. In case you can't tell, there's a lamb, pig and frog.

I got a new camera!

Thank you uncle sam for returning my hard earned...I mean, my husband's hard earned money. I was able to get a camera that works! Let's hope this keeps me motivated in my blogging. Here is a practice pic on my beautiful Ruth.

And one of my older two sporting watches today. It's always good to know the time.
