The Number of the Day is....2!

Every time that Gemma watches Sesame Street, at the end when they ask, "What was the number of the day?", Gemma shouts out, "2!". Well, what a perfect way to celebrate her 2nd birthday than with a Sesame Street inspired party...especially highlighting her favorite character, Cookie Monster. Gemma lovingly refers to him as "Yum Yum". And anyone who has spent much time with Gemma knows, her favorite thing to do is eat, so this just all seemed very fitting.

And here is the birthday girl not long after she got up on the big day. Bummer. Yep, this is not the normal activity of my little Gemma. After confirming the fever, we reluctantly cancelled the little party we had planned with our family.


That evening, after Gemma was feeling better, all hopped up on Tylenol, we had a mini party.

She didn't feel good enough to eat anything all day, but it was her birthday, so we let her have a cupcake anyway. Don't judge me. :-)

The next morning, wearing another new outfit and feeling back to normal! Yay, thankful it was just a short bug.

Still loving the headband. Turning 2 wasn't so bad after all.
